If there’s one programme I look forward to watching each week, it’s The Great British Bake Off. As you can probably tell, I love baking and there’s hardly a day goes by when I don’t stick the oven on and bake something (hence my ever expanding waistline!). So I was delighted to be asked to join in with the Great Blogger Bake Off Challenge – a legitimate excuse to bake a cake!

I was sent the ingredients and recipe to make a Quick Chocolate Fudge Cake, as well as a copy of the book – How to turn everyday bakes into Showstoppers. To me this has all the correct buzz words – quick, chocolate and cake! I was intrigued to see the recipe contained pecans – not something I usually put in my chocolate fudge cakes, but my goodness, they made it taste super scrummy.

So, here is a photo of the finished cake…

A moist, rich chocolate cake with lots of fudgy icing and… what’s that? A letter? Why, yes it is! Can you tell which letter it is (please say yes!)? For those of you who can’t work out my letter, it is a K. You will need to remember this letter then go hunting around other blogs to find out who else has been taking part in the challenge because there are 10 letters to collect. Once you have collected them all over the next few weeks, you will be able to solve the anagram. Keep an eye on the #gbbo twitter hastag as all the bloggers will be tweeting about their posts on this.

If you want to try baking this yummy cake for yourself, then you will find the recipe (along with loads more) on the new Great British Bake Off App, which is available for the iPhone. Click on the banner below to find out more or go to the Great British Bake Off website.

Don’t forget to collect all those letters! I’m off to eat chocolate fudge cake now…
