If you are a regular reader of my blog you may have noticed how I am quite partial to a bit of baking! Ok, quite a lot of baking! So I was very excited when I was approached by Tate & Lyle asking if I’d like to try out some of their sugar. Those of you who follow me on twitter may remember my mini rant about Sainsburys doing some sort of deal with Silverspoon, meaning I could only get their things at my local supermarket. I had issues with their ready to roll icing, which put me off trying the rest of their range, and I don’t like to have my options limited to buying just one brand!
Anyway, I will now get to bake with Tate & Lyle sugar for a while and I shall let you know how I get on with it. In the meantime, I thought maybe one of my readers might also like to give their sugar a go, so I am going to be giving not one, but four bags of sugar away!
Some of you may be aware Tate & Lyle have recently changed their packaging to reflect their fairtrade status. They have also set up a baking group on facebook called We Love Baking, which is an active community with lots of fans, sharing some really good recipes and tips. If you’re a baking fan come along and join in the discussion and share some pictures of your baked goodies.
So you can enter the giveaway to win a bag of caster sugar, a bag of icing sugar, a box of royal icing sugar and a bag of fondant sugar in two different ways.
Firstly, pop over to www.tasteandsmile.co.uk, have a search through the lovely recipes on there and leave me a comment telling me which one is your favourite. Personally, I love the look of the Almond Syrup Tart and will be trying this very soon!
For a second entry, tweet: Show me the sugar! I’m entering @amylane’s giveaway http://bit.ly/bjpTU6 (make sure the @amylane bit is in there or I won’t see your entry!)
The competition is open until 8pm on Friday 28th May when I shall pick a winner at random. I’m afraid I can only post the sugar to a UK address. Good luck!

Oooo, it’s really hard to choose, they all look great but it’s got to be the cinnamon spice loaf! I love anything with cinnamon in. I didn’t know they had a FB page, I’m off to check that out too!

ooh a comp!!
I have just had a look and i think my fave (though they all look good) is the Cheery Cherry Christmas Cakes. They look just like the cakes my nan used to make for us when we were children so they remind me of long summers and happy days for playing in the garden and making dens and coming in hot and tired for an orange squash and a piece of cake.. not sure why they are christmassy specifically though – maybe its the cranberries!

THink it is the Cheery Cherry Christmas cake for me as I don’t like ‘normal’ Christmas cake!

My fave recipe from the Tate and Lyle site is the treasure chest birthday cake. think I am going to make it for my godson’s birthday later on in the year.
