At the beginning of the month it was Dale’s birthday. A few days before, the girls asked him what he would like for his birthday. He told them that he would really like a lie in.
So, the big day arrived and Faith bounced in excitedly first thing in the morning. After wishing her Daddy a happy birthday, she announced that she was very sorry but she couldn’t get him a tiger. We looked at her slightly bemused until the penny dropped.
After we had finished laughing (I know, it’s mean to laugh at small children, but it was funny), we told her that he hadn’t asked for a tiger but he wanted a lie in. She thought for a second then replied, “I couldn’t find a lion either!”
After much searching, she proudly produced this from the bottom of her toy box…
