My aim this year has been to finish 12 knitting projects using just yarn from my (rather large) stash and so far I’ve done pretty well. There are a few Christmas projects that I won’t show you yet as I know some of the recipients read my blog, but here are two things I have finished for the girls recently.
The first is a knitted dress for Faith, which (as you can see from the photo) she’s pretty pleased with! I was hoping I could make the 3 balls I had in my stash stretch to finish this project but unfortunately, I did have to buy an extra one as I wanted to knit a long dress that would last. I loved this pattern and the self striping yarn and it was an easy knit, which I mostly worked on while sitting in the car at school pick up times.
This twirly skirt for Grace is a project that has been hanging around for a while! I finished the knitting, which broke my circular needles twice, earlier in the year but as I hate doing the sewing up, it sat around for ages waiting for me to hem it and sew in the elastic for the waistband. I was really pleased with the finished skirt – the yarn is beautifully soft, if rather frustrating to knit with, and it is certainly twirly, just as the pattern claimed.
I might just post some little teasers of my Christmas knitting like I did last year to see if anyone can guess what I’m making…

Yeah, it’s lovely. When I was a child, mom knitted lots of sweater for my elder brother and I. It’s very warm and sweet. Thank you. Happy New Year.
