A couple of weeks ago it was my niece, Florence’s, Christening day. As well as making her this crochet blanket as a gift, I was in charge of making the Christening cake.
The bottom layer was chocolate and the top was vanilla, decorated with fondant stripes and buttons. I modelled the little shoes on top out of gum paste and as they set so hard, my sister can keep them in Florence’s memory box. I also made 50 mini cupcakes to match but unfortunately, in the hustle and bustle (there were 50 people to feed afterwards) I forgot to photograph them!
I haven’t sorted through the photos from the Christening yet but here’s a gratuitous baby photo anyway 😉
