When I discovered Flavrbox on twitter I was really excited – really, properly excited! So I was beyond excited when they asked if I’d like to try one of their boxes. For those of you who haven’t heard of them, Flavrbox put together a monthly tasting box containing products from some fabulous UK producers, which is delivered to your home or work place. You can sign up for a monthly plan (which can be cancelled at any time), a 6 month plan or an annual plan.
In my tasting box I received a lovely selection of food, which included a jar of red pepper and almond pesto, 2 packets of Sharpham Park Speltotto, some Rigoletti pasta, raspberry truffles and some Forest Pig charcuterie. The box also came with a welcome note and a little leaflet that included information about each producer – you don’t get that at the supermarket!
We thoroughly enjoyed all the food items – Grace wasn’t keen on sharing the charcuterie with anyone and ate huge amounts with crusty bread! The speltotto was very interesting in both texture and flavour, and one of the boxes easily serves 2 adults as it is very filling. I loved the fact that I could use the pasta and red pesto together and make up a simple but delicious meal from the box. Unfortunately, I couldn’t test the chocolates as some oil leaked from the pesto jar. I let Flavrbox know about this and their customer service was excellent. They offered me another box without any quibble and said that, had I been a paying customer, they would have refunded me for the box.
Overall, we loved Flavrbox and would happily pay for a monthly subscription ourselves. There’s something very exciting about receiving a ‘surprise’ parcel of food each month – especially knowing it will contain high quality food from great UK producers.
Disclosure: We were sent a free Flavrbox to test and review, but opinions are our own.

I think that the charcuterie looks amazing, and I would be delighted if that arrived here. Also love the Sharpham products. Great British selection!

It really was a lovely selection. I’ve not felt quite so ‘gushy’ about a review in a long time but I was thrilled with the selection and so pleased that it inspired the children to try some new things.
