At the weekend it was my Dad and Stepmum’s 5th wedding anniversary and a celebration of how far she has come since her illness. Dad chose a cake from Lindy Smith’s ‘Celebrate with a Cake’ book and I did matching cupcakes.
As usual, I wasn’t happy with the finished product as the sugarpaste wasn’t smooth all over and the top cake was too big for the stand! But the cake was well received and I had many lovely comments ๐

It’s always lovely to see my cake designs bring pleasure to people. The cupcakes on the stand look really effective – well done. A smooth finish comes with practice so keep up the good work and enjoy your classes.

Lindy,
Thank you so much for your comment. This is the 4th cake I’ve done for family occasions from your lovely book and they always get great comments. We especially love your fruit cake recipe, which always goes down a treat at Christmas too! I just need some more excuses to make all the other cakes in the book now and am saving up my pennies to get ‘Cakes to Inspire and Desire’ and attend one of your workshops ๐
