Last week Grace and I were very excited to be invited to a special screening of the DVD Hop, which was released on DVD and Blu-ray yesterday (29th August). Firstly, we were looking forward to seeing the film as it wasn’t one we’d seen before and secondly, we were itching to go because the screening was taking place at Cadbury World, near Birmingham. It’s a bit of a drive for us but how could I turn down a trip to a place that makes chocolate?!

After an interesting trip around the chocolate factory and a delicious buffet lunch, we settled down to watch the film, which is about a lively bunny called E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand) who has a talent and passion for playing the drums, but isn’t keen on the idea of taking over from his father in the family chocolate business. So he sets off to Hollywood to follow his dream of becoming a famous drummer and meets the out of work, and generally unlucky, Fred (James Marsden).

Much hilarity follows, including an appearance on a talent show hosted by David Hasselhoff, and all ends well when E.B. rushes back to the chocolate factory to save the day! We both really enjoyed the film, as did Faith, who saw it at the cinema a couple of weeks ago, so it seems to appeal to all ages.

The highlight of the day had to be at the end of the film when a giant E.B. appeared from the back of the room. The children (and many of the mums) loved him, rushing forward for photos and cuddles. The day was finished off with a lovely chocolate filled goodie bag for the children and of course, who could resist a quick look around the chocolate shop?

Disclosure – we were given free tickets to Cadbury World and a HOP themed goodie bag.
