I’m sure it hasn’t escaped your attention that there is nothing I like better than a good bit of crafting and cooking, and what better time for crafty activities than Halloween?! So I was really excited to receive a review copy of this book – Witch Craft, compiled by Margaret McGuire and Alicia Kachmar. It is packed full of ideas for making your Halloween parties very special, with lots of projects ranging from the very simple to the slightly more complex.

The book covers many different crafts including crochet, knitting, baking, cross stitch, sewing and beading. Whilst the book is American in origin there are some helpful conversion charts and a glossary of terms and abbreviations for those new to crafts such as knitting and crochet. There is also a handy section for each project telling you what supplies you’ll need before you begin and lots of templates throughout the book for you to use.

I am looking forward to trying out some of these projects for myself and shall use the cupcakes and Halloween food as inspiration for our gathering. Amongst the lovely projects – Sleepy Ghost Brooches, Tangerine Jack-o’-Lanterns, Witches’ Brew, Trick or Treat Garlands and Creepy Crocheted Bones, to name but a few – one thing that really caught my eye, and who could resist, are the stunning Ruby Slippers. I’m heading off to get me some red glitter asap!
